Most people use skin moisturizers in winter because that is when skin gets dry and itchy. Or some people are a little smarter than them and use skin moisturizers daily, once in the morning or at night. But both are not enough.
Do you know that there is a link between dry skin and age-related diseases?
After many researches, University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) suggests that age-damaged skin plays a very important role in age-related conditions.
These age-related diseases include dangerous diseases like heart disease or Alzheimer’s disease. It is so intriguing and appealing that just skin emollient could be linked with such a big thing.
THIN SKIN AND AGING
We do try to take care of our body, like when we get flu or pain somewhere, we consult with a doctor. But we do not really think about our skin. It is the largest organ of our body. Between inside and outside worlds, our skin is what the barrier is.
For our skin, keeping it hydrated should be our main priority. It does not just keep it beautiful but also healthy. Moisturizing the skin, whether we are young or old is extremely important.

Especially at old age because it gets harder for skin to stay moisturized and hydrated. But why is that so? What happens to our skin when we age?
Well our skin gets loose because of gravity. Our skin gets thinner which makes it hard for the skin to hold the moisture.
We spend our most of time outside. So exposure to the outside world affects our skin negatively too. As we grow older, we see those negative effects of ultraviolet light on our skin. This long term effect makes too many problems such as: thinning of skin, slow healing, and easy bruising.
But the most dangerous one are skin cancers and melanomas and eczemas. These conditions can happen at any age but it is mostly related to old age. It becomes more difficult to get over such problems at such old age.
MOISTURIZING THE RIGHT WAY
Not just moisturizing but knowing the correct way to moisturize our body is very important. Some of the important points you need to know are given below.
The routine of taking a shower is really important. Showers Should not be of really hot water because it dries out skin.
When it comes to moisturizing products, you need to be a little specific. Choose the products very wisely. The products used should be right too. For suppose, body washes and soaps that are scented can irritate the skin because it contains perfumes and fragrances.
So it is best to use unscented ones. And the best time for moisturizing is also right after taking a shower because our skin is easier to get moisturized when it’s soaked.
